Elias Suhonen Wins Early €10,200 EPT Barcelona Event
The Finnish player beat Nicholas Seward heads-up for €114,200 as the Barcelona festival got rolling.
Elias Suhonen took down the €10,200 No-Limit Hold’em event at the 2026 PokerStars EPT Barcelona festival, beating Nicholas Seward heads-up for the title and €114,200. The event drew 31 entries and generated a €310,000 prize pool.
Seward finished second for €73,700. Brandon Wilson was the first player to cash, taking fifth for €28,600, while Mehdi Chaoui earned €35,300. Jean-Noel Thorel was eliminated before the final duel.
According to PokerNews, Suhonen’s result was the fourth six-figure live score of his career. The site also described the win as one of the festival’s early headline results, with five champions already crowned only a couple of days into the series, and Suhonen’s payout the largest of those early finishes.
EPT Barcelona runs from August 16 to 29 and is headlined by the €5,300 EPT Main Event. This year’s schedule also includes PokerStars’ new €2,200 In the Money at 180,000 tournament, which awards a Day 2 seat and locks up a cash as soon as a player reaches 180,000 chips, removing the usual money bubble.
