WSOP Circuit Heads to Madrid for Its First Spanish Stop

Casino Gran Vía will host 11 ring events from Oct. 23, led by a €1,500 Main Event and €2,500 High Roller.

The WSOP Circuit will make its first stop in Spain when Casino Gran Vía hosts an 11-day festival in Madrid from Oct. 23 to Nov. 2. The series will award 11 Circuit rings across buy-ins from €300 to €2,500, with more than 50 tournaments on the overall schedule.

Casino Gran Vía said each ring winner will receive a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package for the Bahamas in December. The venue described the Circuit as the travelling version of the World Series of Poker, which stages ring events at casinos around the world.

The festival begins with the €300 Mini Main Event on Oct. 23. It has four opening flights across two days, with survivors returning on Oct. 25. That day also starts the €550 Seniors event for players aged 50 and older, along with the €550 Mystery Bounty.

The €300 Colossus runs six starting flights from Oct. 25 through Nov. 1 before its final day on Nov. 2. Other ring events include a €500 Knockout, the €2,500 High Roller on Oct. 27, a €1,000 Deepstack and €550 Pot-Limit Omaha on Oct. 31, plus the €400 Superstack and €350 Bigstack. The Bigstack closes the ring schedule.

The €1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event is Ring #7 and starts Oct. 28 with four flights. Flights A through C use 40-minute levels, while the Oct. 30 flight uses 20-minute levels. Day 2 follows on Oct. 31, with Spain’s first WSOP Circuit Main Event champion due to be decided Nov. 1.

There is one conflicting listing to note: a separate PokerNews schedule page gives the festival window as Oct. 29 through Nov. 2. Casino Gran Vía’s announcement and PokerNews’ detailed schedule report both give Oct. 23 to Nov. 2, while the official WSOP schedule lists the Main Event, Mini Main, Colossus and other tournaments. Casino Gran Vía also described the Main Event entry as €1,650, whereas PokerNews and the WSOP schedule list it at €1,500.
