Viktor Kovachev Climbs in SHRPO Championship Day 2

According to Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open updates, Viktor Kovachev was second in chips when players came back for Day 2 of the $5,300 SHRPO Championship. Jonathan Wang led the 217 survivors when cards went back in the air, and Kovachev later climbed to 651,000 chips, or 217 big blinds, as the blinds went up.
The championship drew 673 entries across two starting flights and built a $3,262,704 prize pool, topping the $3 million guarantee. A total of 217 players advanced to Day 2.
The event is Event 43, a No Limit Hold'em championship with a four-day schedule and two starting days. Players begin with 50,000 chips, and on-site registration with one re-entry per day stayed open until the start of Level 9.
Day 2 began with Level 11 at 1,500/2,500 and a 2,500 ante, then moved to Level 12 at 1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante. By the later update, 168 players remained.
The final 85 players get paid, the min-cash is $9,700, and the winner receives $513,404 plus an SHRPO Guitar Tower Trophy. Second place pays $340,000, third $250,000, fourth $188,000, fifth $142,000, and sixth $108,000.
The schedule called for 60-minute levels until 24 players remained, then 90-minute levels, with a dinner break from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Day 2 was set to end after Level 20, and survivors were due back the next day to keep working toward the final table.
