Caesars Virginia’s First WSOP Circuit Main Event Begins
The Danville stop opened with Day 1A of a $1,700 championship carrying a $500,000 guarantee and a WSOP Paradise package for the winner.
Cards got in the air Thursday in Danville as Caesars Virginia’s inaugural WSOP Circuit Main Event opened with Day 1A. The championship is a $1,700 No-Limit Hold’em event with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, and the winner gets the ring plus a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package.
As reported in August, Caesars Virginia had already secured Virginia’s first WSOP Circuit stop. The broader festival runs Sept. 3-14 at the Pantheon, with 18 official ring events and more than $1.5 million in guaranteed prize pools.
The Main Event uses three starting flights, with Day 1B set for Friday and Day 1C for Saturday. Players start with 40,000 chips, can use one re-entry per flight during registration, and can register through the start of Level 13, about 8:45 p.m. local time.
Each flight runs 17 levels or until only 10% of the field remains, whichever comes first, and each one reaches the money before play ends for the night. Survivors from all three flights move on to Day 2 on Sunday, and players return Monday at noon to play down to the first champion in the event’s history.
There is no defending champion in Danville because this is the first WSOP Circuit series to land there.
