Solana-based payments processed at the 2026 World Series of Poker reached $23 million, and that worked out to about 6% of all buy-ins at the festival. On the PokerNews Podcast, Solana chief product officer Vibhu Norby said, “I don’t know if you saw, but we processed $23 million of Solana-based payments into the World Series this year.”

As reported in July, WSOP had already added Solana buy-ins through MoonPay for the 2026 series, starting in Las Vegas. PokerNews said the June rollout was billed as the first time in WSOP history that players could enter tournaments using crypto, with buy-ins available in SOL, USDC, or USDT. Solana and MoonPay said the system was built for direct checkout, with no processing fees and no conversion steps between a wallet and a tournament seat.

The integration also runs alongside traditional payment methods, so players can still use conventional buy-in routes. Solana.com said the collaboration was meant to modernize how money moves through the poker ecosystem and reduce friction for players around the world, while WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said Solana’s speed and efficiency fit the pace of the tournaments. MoonPay Commerce president Jim Walker said the partnership was aimed at meeting demand for faster, borderless payments.

It also said Solana branding was visible throughout the 2026 series and that Solana worked with WSOP to keep payment processing smooth for thousands of players in Las Vegas. The coverage added that the Main Event final table featured the first-ever $100,000 WSOP Solana Showdown freeroll, won by Rasmr for $50,000, with MinhxDynasty taking $25,000 for second. The stablecoin payout feature is slated to arrive at WSOP Paradise in The Bahamas in December, where winners can receive settlements in stablecoins on Solana.
