ACR Poker Expands Anniversary Event to 41 Day 1 Flights

The $250, $2.5 million tournament leans on cumulative stacks and a late-September finish

ACR Poker’s 25th Anniversary Tournament now carries 41 Day 1 flights, a $250 buy-in and a $2.5 million guarantee, according to PokerStrategy’s September roundup. The same report says the event uses a cumulative-stack format, so players who qualify more than once can add chips from later runs to the stack they already hold.

As reported on Sept. 2, the late-September finish was already on the calendar. The remaining regular Day 1 flights are listed for Sept. 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 21, 24 and 27, with each one beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET. Turbo chances continue through Sept. 26, then return on Sept. 27 at 7:05 p.m. ET and Sept. 28 at 8:05 a.m. ET, according to Card Player and F5 Poker.

Players who advance from any of the remaining opening flights move on to Day 2 on Sept. 28. The final table is scheduled for Sept. 29.

ACR’s own Aug. 26 article framed the event as a 25th-anniversary celebration and said the qualification window runs from July into late September, with the opening flight held on July 18. That earlier update also said 421 players had already qualified by Aug. 26, while 23 players had already shown the value of multiple entries in a cumulative-stack structure.

The ACR article also said the tournament had already collected $583,740 in prize-pool contributions as of Aug. 26. The expanded flight list and repeated-entry format give players more chances to build a stronger starting stack before the event plays down to its champion.
