Daniel Dvoress Leads Triton Jeju II $30,000 Final Table
Stephen Chidwick, Ben Tollerene and Xuan Liu were still in the hunt for the $942,000 top prize in Jeju
Triton Jeju II’s $30,000 NLH 8-Handed reached its final table on Wednesday, and Daniel Dvoress was still the player setting the pace. He began the day with the chip lead and was in position to try to run the table wire-to-wire in South Korea.
According to PokerNews, the final table also featured Stephen Chidwick, Ben Tollerene and Xuan Liu. The event drew 135 entries and built a $4.05 million prize pool, with $942,000 reserved for the winner.
As covered in our earlier Jeju updates, Triton’s stop has already produced a string of deep runs and big-money spots. Liu brought her own piece of history into the mix, since she beat Dvoress heads-up in Montenegro last year for $860,000 and became Triton’s first-ever female champion.
Dvoress had been in command from early on. He bagged the Day 1 lead with 2,590,000 chips when 18 players were still alive, and the field had already locked up a minimum of $51,000 at that stage. The Wednesday schedule also included the start of the $40,000 NLH 7-Handed Mystery Bounty event at 3 p.m. local time.
