Kingsluvan Takes Down 888poker Mystery Bounty Main Event
The $109 event overlaid again, and five of the eight finalists came from Ukraine.
kingsluvan won 888poker’s $80,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event, banking $10,549 after a final table that was done in less than 75 minutes, even with the scheduled break. The $109 buy-in drew 721 entries and 153 re-entries, so the event overlaid again and 888poker still did not get to the reduced $80,000 target it set in late July.
As covered in late July, getoverhere had already taken down the same event after a slight overlay. According to PokerNews, this week’s final table was also heavily skewed toward one country, with players from Ukraine filling five of the eight seats.
The action started slowly. There were no eliminations for the first 25 minutes, until Why_a_King went out, and then three more players busted within the next 10 minutes. Travel99 eliminated Dimitr1us in an ace-nine versus ace-five clash where Travel99’s nine kicker held, and then sent TitovSej out in sixth place with eight-five offsuit against queen-seven after a five hit the flop and turn.
Travel99 also knocked out Antrage in a blind-versus-blind hand, calling king-ten with pocket nines and making a full house while Antrage made a straight. Kingsluvan then made the next big move, tank-calling Ra4ok123’s 19 big blind shove with pocket eights, flopping a set and fading the straight outs to reach the last three.
At three-handed play, the average stack was more than 51 big blinds, so there was still room for maneuver. After the scheduled break, kingsluvan raised with ace-king and called a 31 big blind shove from SHADY_XV, who missed and finished third. Travel99 disconnected before that hand, did not manage to reconnect, and kingsluvan went into heads-up with a two-to-one chip lead before Travel99 was eventually blinded out.
The next listed $109, $80,000-guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event is set for 6 p.m. BST on 30 August, with satellites starting from $0.10.
