Ethan “Rampage” Yau finished $176,200 down on Hustler Casino Live’s Oct. 30 broadcast after his pocket kings were beaten by Dumbledore’s runner-runner trips in a $321,100 pot. Dumbledore went on to book the session’s biggest win, $389,200.
The hand came late in a $100-$200 game with two straddles. CardPlayer reported that Peter Wang limped from the big blind with 8♠7♥ before Dumbledore raised the first straddle to $4,000 with A♥10♠. Yau, holding K♥K♦ in the second straddle, reraised to $15,000; Wang folded and Dumbledore called.
The 7♣6♦2♣ flop missed Dumbledore, and Yau checked back his overpair. The 10♦ turn gave Dumbledore top pair. He bet $20,000, Yau called, and the pot reached $71,100.
The 10♥ river gave Dumbledore running trips. He then overbet $125,000, sending Yau into a long decision with his kings. “What happens when you have as strong of a hand as possible, but it feels bad?” Yau said before calling.
Dumbledore showed trips and collected the $321,100 pot, taking his stack above $627,000. More than $2 million was on the table when the stream ended.
The result was a sharp reversal from Yau’s strong Hustler Casino Live run earlier in the year. PokerNews reported in June that he had made more than $1.3 million across three recent appearances, including a $707,000 win on June 19. Yau, a two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and regular in high-stakes livestreams, was the second-biggest loser in the Oct. 30 game.
