CoinPoker’s September CoinMillion Sets a Platform Record
Fish2025 won $119,500 as the 4,986-entry GOPC opener became the biggest CoinMillion field yet.
CoinPoker’s first September CoinMillion drew 4,986 entries and set a new platform record for the flagship event. The $1 million-guaranteed tournament paid 772 places, and screen name 'fish2025’ won $119,500 after entering once and never rebuying or re-entering.
PokerStrategy reported that the September 6 event was the first CoinMillion held as part of the Global Online Poker Championship. As covered in August, CoinPoker had lined up four Sunday CoinMillions for September inside the same series.
The field included 3,628 unique players and 1,358 re-entries or rebuys. Seats came from 3,495 direct cash buy-ins, 1,015 promotional tickets and 476 satellite qualifiers. Across the field, 133 players who used free tickets cashed for a combined $125,800, while 74 satellite qualifiers collected $53,600.
fish2025 registered 63 minutes into Day 1, finished that session seventh in chips and went on to the final table on Day 2. By the time heads-up play began, the eventual winner held more than two-thirds of the chips in play and beat IWtPlayaGame, who earned $76,300 for second place.
The rest of the final table also paid well. hross took third for $55,000, jenesaisquoi was fourth for $40,200, VVsMolly finished fifth for $29,400 and GrosTony was sixth for $21,800. r8gogo turned a free promotional ticket into $16,500 for seventh, Fab1o converted a $25 satellite into $4,900 for 14th, and ThunderBeing finished ninth for $12,600.
The win was also a huge leap from fish2025’s prior best CoinPoker tournament cash of $2,491, 48 times smaller than this score. CoinPoker’s schedule still has three more $1 million CoinMillion GOPC editions in September, and the next one is set for Sept. 13.
