CoinPoker Finalizes GOPC Schedule With $3 Million Main Event
The six-week series runs Aug. 23 to Sept. 28 and adds 17 flights, three main-event tiers and more than 700 medal events.
CoinPoker has finalized the schedule for its Global Online Poker Championship, a $50 million guaranteed online series that runs from Aug. 23 through Sept. 28. The festival is split across Europe, Latin America and Asia, and its centerpiece is a $530 main event with a $3 million guarantee and 17 starting flights.
As reported on Aug. 5, CoinPoker had already launched the championship in broad form; the new schedule now fills in the late-summer calendar and confirms three buy-in tiers for the headline event structure. Those three main-event tiers add up to $4.25 million in guarantees, with the $55 Global Main at $1 million and the $11 Global Mini Main at $250,000 joining the $530 flagship.
The $55 Global Main runs with three Day 1 flights each day from Aug. 23 through Sept. 20, plus a final starting flight on Sept. 21, with Day 2 also on Sept. 21. The $11 Global Mini Main mirrors that structure and finishes with Day 2 on Sept. 28. The $530 main event begins with its first starting flight on Sept. 6 and brings its qualifiers back for Day 2 on Sept. 28.
CoinPoker describes the $3 million main event guarantee as the biggest in its history.
The rest of the series adds a stack of side events and promotions. Opening day includes $1,050 and $5,200 high-roller events with $800,000 in combined guarantees, Sept. 22 carries a $25,500 tournament with a $1 million guarantee, and Sept. 27 closes with a $10,300 High Roller Championship worth $500,000.
CoinMillion returns every Sunday in September at a $215 buy-in and a $1 million guarantee, with Day 1 on Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 and Day 2 on the following Monday. CoinMasters also gets a GOPC upgrade, with $150 BITCOIN events at $400,000 guaranteed on multiple Sundays and a special $500,000 edition on Sept. 20, plus a $25 Mini CoinMasters every Sunday. The promotional pool totals $350,000, including $200,000 for regional leaderboards, split $105,000 for Europe, $55,000 for LATAM and $40,000 for Asia, $20,000 for the Podium Race and $130,000 in Bankroll Boosts. CoinPoker says there will be more than 700 medal events, with gold medals shipped as trophies and silver and bronze awarded digitally.
