PokerStars’ Lee Jones In a “Rush” To Stop High-Stakes Predators

... we mean "Zoom."

From the sidelines at EPT Prague, Head of Poker Communications for PokerStars, Lee Jones, talks with PokerNews’ Sarah Grant about the “experimental” switch to Zoom-only poker for all NLHE and PLO tables at $50/$100 stakes.

Looking to cut down on bumhunting and predatory practices seen online and to make the game more fun (and move faster), the online outfit is forcing players at these stakes to only use their fast-fold format if they want a seat in the game. No more game selection, no more seat selection, and no more sitting out—if you want to make money in these games you gotta play whoever is in the player pool.

In the video Jones talks about this as a trial, though they seem confident of its success. (Side note: Lee Jones states in the vid that it is $50/$100 staes and up, though we’ve confirmed with PokerStars that initially it will be $50/$100 only. Expect a rollout to other stakes if the experiment is deemed a success).
