Almost 800 of 9,999 WPT Global NFT Avatars Already Minted
Over 9,000 NFTs remain to be minted, giving WPT Global players a chance to claim their own avatar and access a personalized and more valuable experience.
WPT Global is the first poker operator to fully merge the realms of online poker and Non-Fungible Tokens. These NFTs represent the latest addition to the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies as unique cryptographic assets stored on the chain.
Looking to incorporate this latest craze, WPT Global launched with the idea of incorporating NFTs directly into the poker app. The unique NFTs will eventually allow players to use them as their avatars at the tables and give them access to exclusive perks such as special freerolls, invitation-only live and online events, and much more.
The public minting process officially kicks off in July, which means players can soon mint their avatars to receive one of the total 9,999 NFTs available in the collection. So far, almost 800 WPT Global NFTs have been minted, showing interest in this idea. NFTs are still not available for in-game use, but according to the WPT Global site, the full integration should happen later this year.

NFTs belong to three large groups according to their rarity, namely:
- Humans — Making up 60% of the total number and offering the lowest perks.
- Cyborgs — 30% of the total, offering some extra perks not available to Human avatar owners.
- Gods — The most exclusive. Only 10% of total avatars are in this category, but those lucky enough to mint them will get the full slate of perks, including access to WPT Live VIP events.
It remains to be seen how the NFT idea will play out for WPT Global, but it is undoubtedly an exciting concept and one that could have quite an impact on the future of the online poker industry.
