Jonas Kronwitter Wins First PGT Title in PLO Series Event No. 5
Kronwitter topped a 63-entry $10,500 PLO field for $201,600 and took the series points lead with three events remaining.
Jonas Kronwitter captured his first PokerGO Tour title by winning the $10,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Event No. 5 at the 2026 PGT PLO Series. He topped 63 entries for $201,600 from a $630,000 prize pool, defeating Richard Gryko heads-up.
Kronwitter began the final day as chip leader with five players left and carried more than a two-to-one advantage into heads-up play. Gryko earned $126,000 for second, his second consecutive runner-up result at the series.
The final table turned decisively in Kronwitter’s favor when his set of eights beat Jeremy Druckman’s top two pair to eliminate Druckman in fourth for $63,000. Kronwitter then rivered a flush against Jiyang Gan, who collected $88,200 in third place. Gryko had earlier knocked out Youness Barakat in fifth for $47,250.
In the final hand, Gryko held A♠J♠8♣4♣ against Kronwitter’s K♥J♥8♠7♣. An A♥ turn and 2♦ river sealed the title for Kronwitter.
The victory capped a strong early run for Kronwitter at the stop. He had finished second to Sam Soverel in Event No. 1, then cashed Events No. 2 and No. 4 before his win in Event No. 5. His four series cashes totaled $308,000 and lifted his career tournament earnings to nearly $4.3 million.
The Event No. 5 result awarded Kronwitter 202 PGT points and moved him into the series lead, with Gryko second. Card Player also credited Kronwitter with 360 Player of the Year points, bringing his 2026 total to 1,808, just outside the top 250 in that ranking.
At the time of the result, three PGT PLO Series events remained, including another PLO tournament, a Mystery Bounty and the $26,000 championship. The player-of-the-series winner receives a $10,000 PGT Passport.
