Alejandro Lococo Wins PokerStars’ $1,050 WCOOP Main Event

Playing as “[Papo]AR,” Lococo earned $343,242 after a 2,310-entry tournament cleared its $2 million guarantee.

Alejandro Lococo has won PokerStars’ $1,050 World Championship of Online Poker No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, collecting $343,242. The four-day tournament drew 2,310 entries and generated a prize pool of more than $2.3 million, clearing its $2 million guarantee.

Playing as “[Papo]AR,” Lococo streamed both the victory and the celebration. He began the final day third in chips, behind Brazil’s “calldeKhig” and Portugal’s Jorge “jorginho88” Abreu, but built a commanding heads-up lead over “Goodarla” and did not give it up.

PokerNews reported that Lococo’s queen-four beat “Goodarla’s” ten-seven in the final hand. Lococo moved all in from the button with Q♦4♠, and his opponent called with 10♥7♥; a J♣6♣4♥5♠4♦ board gave Lococo trip fours on the river.

The title adds a major online result to a tournament record that includes the 2024 Triton Million Invitational at the World Series of Poker Paradise. Lococo won that $500,000 buy-in event for $12.07 million, earning his first WSOP bracelet and a Triton title. He also finished seventh in the November 2021 WSOP Main Event for $1.225 million and recently placed second in a $20,000 no-limit hold’em event at Triton Jeju.

Lococo has nearly $17 million in recorded tournament earnings and signed as a CoinPoker platform ambassador in March.

The $1,050 event was one of WCOOP’s three Main Events across separate buy-in levels; as we reported Sept. 30, Felipe “lipe piv” Boianovsky won the $10,300 championship for $551,632, becoming the first player to capture both a $10,000-plus SCOOP Main Event and a WCOOP Main Event.
