PokerStars on FanDuel Launches Nightly Stars Leaderboard
$2,500 in weekly ticket payouts will be split among 73 finishers during a two-week run.
PokerStars on FanDuel is rolling out a new Nightly Stars Leaderboard that pays $2,500 in tournament tickets each week. The promo runs for two weeks, Aug. 24-29 and Aug. 31-Sep. 5, and it is tied to the operator’s daily Nightly Stars schedule.
Players earn one leaderboard point for every $1 they cash in qualifying Nightly Stars tournaments. Because Nightly Stars runs Monday through Saturday at 6:40 p.m., the promo gives players six chances per week to build a score, and the top 73 finishers each week will receive tournament tickets. Those tickets expire 21 days after they are issued, and players can check their standings in the Leaderboards section of the poker client.
As covered in late July, PokerStars on FanDuel had already revamped Nightly Stars with deeper stacks, later late registration and bigger guarantees. The daily $100 tournament doubled its starting stack from 5,000 chips to 10,000, late registration now closes at the 400/800 blind level, and guarantees were lifted to $25,000 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and $22,500 on the other days.
The leaderboard does not apply to the smaller mini versions of Nightly Stars, which are aimed at smaller bankrolls. The report also said players who win tickets to the 2nd Chance All In Shootout are registered automatically, so they do not need to be logged in to participate.
PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel is available in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, after FanDuel described the combined platform as a way to merge liquidity across markets and deliver bigger games and larger prize pools. The new leaderboard is another promotion built around that same nightly tournament schedule, and the report said an extension beyond the initial run is possible, but there is no guarantee.
