Mits3o4 Beats Samjazzykins for Nearly $350,000 on CoinPoker

A $187,866 nut-straight cooler and an $80,000 top-set hand drove the Sunday result in 5-card PLO.

CoinPoker’s weekend high-stakes 5-card PLO action ended with Mits3o4 taking almost $350,000 from samjazzykins in a $200/$400, $80-ante heads-up match. Over several hundred hands on Sunday, samjazzykins looked to have the upper hand early, but Mits3o4 turned it around by winning several big stacks when samjazzykins got out of line.

According to Card Player, the biggest swing came in a $187,866 cooler that started with both players about $94,000 deep. Samjazzykins opened to $1,200 and got called, then the flop came 10♦5♦2♠. After a check, samjazzykins potted to $2,560 and Mits3o4 called. On the 3♥ turn, samjazzykins potted $7,680, Mits3o4 repotted to $30,720, and after another call the 8♠ landed and Mits3o4 put in the last $59,373.

Mits3o4 tabled J♦9♠8♣6♦4♦ for the nuts, while samjazzykins had A♣J♥8♦4♥3♦ for a wheel. The analysis said the flop action made sense because both players had a wrap plus flush draw, but the turn potting left samjazzykins in trouble once the money went in with a non-nut straight. It also noted that the flush draw described there was eight-high and easily dominated.

The other highlighted hand was an $80,000 pot with 100-blind stacks. Mits3o4 opened to $1,200, called a three-bet to $3,600, and then called $5,520 on the K♣9♦2♠ flop before jamming the remaining $12,400 on the 5♠ turn. Mits3o4 showed K♠K♦Q♥7♥6♣ for top set, while samjazzykins had A♥6♠4♠3♥2♣ for a big draw that was about 42% equity when the money went in. The 5♥ river held the set, and the $80,000 pot went to Mits3o4. The hand analysis said samjazzykins’ three-bet was much too aggressive, and it added that in PLO5, low straights, flushes and trips lose showdowns more often than they do in regular PLO.
