Electric City Poker Series Returns to Rivers Casino Schenectady

September schedule brings 12 trophy events, a $250,000 Main Event and more than $420,000 in guarantees

Rivers Casino Schenectady is bringing back the Electric City Poker Series, with the series set for Sept. 14 through Sept. 27. The fourth annual run will feature 12 trophy events, eight satellites and more than $420,000 in guaranteed prize pools across 19 unique days, with action split between the casino’s Poker Room and Van Slyck’s lounge.

According to Rivers Casino’s press release, advance Milestone Satellites begin Sept. 1, and registration for all events opens at 10 a.m. on each day of play in the Poker Room. As covered in July, BetRivers Poker also brought back its Multi-State Summer Series online.

The headline event is the Main Event No-Limit Hold ’em tournament, which runs Sept. 23-27 with a $1,200 buy-in and a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. It will use four Day 1 flights and includes a $4,000 double-bag bonus.

The Mini Main Event is also back, with a $400 buy-in, a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and six Day 1 flights from Sept. 14-20. Rivers says one in eight players advances to Day 2, one in eight is guaranteed to finish in the money, and the event carries a $1,500 double-bag bonus.

Beyond the two main draws, the schedule brings back Rivers Revival at a $350 buy-in with a $15,000 guarantee. In that format, players can “revive” with 20 big blinds after elimination and keep playing.

The series also includes returning tournaments such as the Ladies Event, Seniors 50+ Event and Omaha High-Low Event. New additions this year include the Monster Stack Rush Event, Double Green Chip Bounty Event, Pot-Limit Omaha Event, Black Chip Bounty Event and Deuces Wild Event.

Rivers is also layering in a leaderboard race, with the top three point earners set to collect $2,000, $1,000 and $500. Every event champion will receive an Electric City Poker Series trophy.

The satellite schedule is built to feed the Main Event, too. The $155 buy-in Milestone Satellites award one $1,200 Main Event seat for every 10 players, with two seats guaranteed in each event, while the $285 version pays one seat for every five players and guarantees three seats.

There is also a cash-game promotion running Sept. 1-18. During that window, a player who makes a two-card Royal Flush in a promotional-eligible cash game wins a $1,200 Main Event seat.
