Saturday Sells Out for Kerryjane Craigie’s UK Ladies Weekend at the Hippodrome

The Oct. 16-18 London program pairs a streamed women’s cash game and coaching sessions with a £20,000-guaranteed Women’s Classic.

Kerryjane Craigie’s UK Ladies Weekend at London’s Hippodrome Casino will run Oct. 16-18, with Saturday’s coaching, study sessions and dinner already sold out. The three-day Women’s Poker Association initiative is designed for both newcomers and experienced players looking to sharpen their game.

Craigie, PokerStars Ambassador and the Hippodrome’s director of poker, is hosting the event. PokerNews reported that Friday begins with dedicated women’s cash games, which will be streamed on YouTube with commentary, strategy guidance and poker discussion.

Saturday’s program focuses on learning and player development. Jennifer will discuss poker perspective and decision-making, while Marle will break down tournament hands, key spots and turning points. Victoria’s session is set to cover structured study and using off-table work to improve decisions at the table.

Maria Ho will take part in an exclusive question-and-answer session. The day concludes with a four-course dinner in the casino’s private dining rooms, with food from Heliot Steak House.

The weekend’s women-only tournament starts at noon on Sunday, Oct. 18. It has a £300 buy-in, a £20,000 guarantee, a 20,000-chip starting stack and 25-minute levels. About 15 entries were already headed to the tournament, with on-the-day registration opening at 11 a.m.

Craigie has run £35 live satellites through her monthly Ladies Club and £33 online PokerStars qualifiers for the tournament. As we covered in September, PokerStars added three £300 Women’s Classic seats through its WCOOP Women’s World Championship, with the top three finishers set to receive them.

The event follows a partnership announced in June for a dedicated women’s weekend at the Hippodrome. Its stated aim is to make poker more inclusive and create further opportunities for women. WPA President AJ Rudolph has said women account for less than 5% of live-poker fields, though that share is growing.

Craigie said the interest and support from the women’s poker community had made her proud.
