ACR Poker Makes Mini Phil’s Thrill PLO a Weekly Sunday Event
The $2,650 Omaha variant drew 54 entries in its Sept. 6 debut, beat the regular Mini Phil’s Thrill, and earned a regular 3:30 p.m. ET slot.
ACR Poker has turned the $2,650 Mini Phil’s Thrill PLO into a weekly Sunday event after its Sept. 6 debut drew 54 entries from 35 players and generated a $135,000 prize pool on the WPN network. The move came after what was described as a successful first test of the Phil Nagy-branded Omaha format, enough to earn it a regular slot on the schedule.
The opening edition was an 8-max tournament with no guarantee, and it was won by omahafyrarolls. PokerListings said the Omaha event attracted more players and produced more entries than the standard $2,650 Mini Phil’s Thrill running alongside it. That Hold’em version had 29 players make 36 entries, built a $90,000 prize pool, and paid five players.
The new Mini Phil’s Thrill PLO now starts every Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Players can use the same satellite path that already feeds the Hold’em Mini Phil’s Thrill, including the $290 Turbo Sat, the $750 AIOF Step 6/6, and the $350 Survivor Flip, Step 4. PokerListings also reported that all other Phil’s tournaments remain in place, with the biggest batch landing on Saturdays and two Sunday named Phil’s events continuing as usual.
ACR launched Mini Phil’s Thrill as a lower-buy-in Sunday version of Phil’s Thrill on Oct. 5, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. ET with a $200,000 guarantee. The flagship $10,300 Phil’s Thrill stayed in its 2:30 p.m. ET Sunday slot, and ACR’s promo copy said the lower buy-in was meant to open the door to a wider range of bankrolls. PR Newswire also quoted Phil Nagy saying that was the point of the format.
