Borgata’s $5,300 Big, Big Championship Opens With $3 Million Guaranteed
Three Day 1 flights, unlimited re-entry and 40,000-chip starting stacks lead into the Atlantic City series' marquee event.
The $5,300 BetMGM Poker Big, Big Championship opens its first of three Day 1 flights at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City on Saturday, with a $3 million guaranteed prize pool at stake. The event begins at 12:15 p.m. local time.
Players receive 40,000 chips for the buy-in and can enter an unlimited number of times during the Day 1 flights. Day 1A runs Saturday, followed by Day 1B on Sunday and Day 1C on Monday, Sept. 21. Registration remains available until the start of Day 2.
As we reported in August, BetMGM Poker had posted the Borgata series with more than $6 million in guarantees, including the championship’s $3 million prize pool in its 11-event lineup.
Each opening flight plays 10 60-minute levels before survivors bag chips. There are 15-minute breaks after every two levels, plus a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6.
The three Day 1 fields combine for Day 2 at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, when another 10 60-minute levels are scheduled. Day 3 begins at the same time Wednesday, Sept. 23, and is set to play down to a winner.
BetMGM Poker also staged three $600 championship qualifiers, which were set to award at least 50 seats in total. The first ran Friday, while second-chance and last-chance qualifiers are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
