Espen Jorstad Wins Third WCOOP Title
The PokerStars regular came from a four-to-one heads-up deficit to take the $1,050 PKO Warm-Up for $33,250.
Espen Jorstad won WCOOP 02-H: $1,050 PKO Warm-Up on PokerStars, giving him a third career World Championship of Online Poker title. The event drew 154 entries, and Jorstad collected $33,250 total after a $14,359 base score and $18,891 in bounties.
According to PokerNews, Jorstad beat Finnish player realsuhisjii heads-up after digging out of a four-to-one chip deficit. The outlet also noted that his first two WCOOP titles came in 2023 and 2024, both under the username Hymn2Ninkasi, and that he missed out on a win in last year’s series.
The same report said Jorstad became the first GTO Wizard Pro in 2023 and later signed on as an ambassador for the solver brand. It also pointed out that he is the 2022 WSOP Main Event champion.
PokerTube filled in the finish, saying Jorstad went into heads-up play on September 7 as the short stack and closed the gap in a single hand when his king-queen ran into realsuhisjii’s king-jack and a straight arrived on the river with ace-four. After that swing, Jorstad three-bet with ace-king, then rivered two pair and shoved, with realsuhisjii calling off his tournament life holding a turned two pair with king-seven.
PokerTube also said nine players made the money in the event, and that WCOOP’s 25th edition is a 121-event festival running through September 30.
