Stake.us is running its Poker Showdown through Dec. 31, with a guaranteed prize pool of 100,000 SC. The event began Oct. 5 and is available through the Stake Poker tournament lobby.

The route to the main event is a four-stage ladder. Players can start at 0.50 SC in Step 1, then progress through 10 SC and 100 SC stages, with winners receiving seats in the next level. They can also bypass earlier qualifiers by buying into Step 2 or Step 3 directly.

Deadspin described the promotion as offering an entry path that does not require a Gold Coin purchase. A player can instead skip the qualifying route entirely by paying 1,000 SC for direct entry to the final Stake Showdown.

Each stage has its own field, requiring players to outlast opponents to reach a final table and compete for the title. Prize distribution is based on finishing position and remains subject to Stake.us rules and location restrictions.

Players must complete KYC checks covering identity, age, address and source of funds. Stake.us also bars VPN use and play from states where its platform is unavailable. Dimers described the site as available to players aged 21 or older in eligible states, with participation void where prohibited.

The event is governed by Stake.us’ General Terms and Conditions, Card Room Rules, Poker Security and Ecology Policy, and Poker Refund Policy. The security rules prohibit account sharing, chip dumping, data mining and the use of manual, semi-automated or automated auxiliary tools during play.

If a tournament is canceled before it starts, entrants receive their buy-in or voucher back, except in freerolls. For cancellations after play has begun, refunds can depend on chip counts and whether a player has already been eliminated.
