Maryland Poker Championship Adds EPT Package Sweepstakes
Each MSPC winner gets an entry for a European Poker Tour trip, with the prize now listed at about $11,500.
Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland’s Maryland State Poker Championship is set for August 26 through September 7, with 16 events and $1.1 million in guarantees. The festival’s headliner is a $1,700 Main Event running September 3-7 with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The new twist is a sweepstakes tied to the tournament winners. According to the MSPC page, each event winner is entered into a drawing for an EPT package provided by PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel, and the prize is valued at about $11,500.
That package includes an EPT Main Event seat, hotel accommodation and travel money, and the winner can choose the destination. Pokerfuse said the examples listed include Barcelona, Monte Carlo and Prague, and that one winner will be drawn from the entries.
PokerNews reported in June that PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel would sponsor the championship and that the festival would feature 16 trophy events and more than $1 million in guarantees. That report described the prize as a Player’s Choice EPT package valued at €10,000, including hotel and a €5,300 EPT Main Event buy-in.
