Key points
  1. The Malta Poker Festival Autumn Edition runs at Portomaso Casino from Oct. 23 through Nov. 4.
  2. The €600 Grand Event has a €1 million guarantee and concludes with its final table on Nov. 3.
  3. The €390 IPS begins Oct. 29 with a €1.5 million guarantee, the largest for an individual scheduled event.
  4. The series also includes mixed games, PLO, Seniors, Ladies First!, Halloween and High Roller Mystery Bounty tournaments.

The Malta Poker Festival Autumn Edition will return to Portomaso Casino in Malta from Oct. 23 through Nov. 4, led by a €600 Grand Event carrying a €1 million guarantee. Michael Mizrachi, identified by the festival as the 2025 WSOP Main Event champion, is scheduled to host every stage of that tournament.

The Grand Event opens on Oct. 23 and has starting flights through Nov. 1, including a turbo flight on the final opening day. Survivors combine for Day 2 on Nov. 2, with the final table set for Nov. 3.

There is more money available elsewhere on the series schedule. The €390 IPS begins Oct. 29 with a €1.5 million guarantee, the largest listed for an individual event, while the €250 Mini IPS starts on opening day.

Other tournaments include The Hendon Mob Championship, H.O.R.S.E., MPF 8 Games, PLO events, MPF Seniors, Ladies First! and the Scandinavian Open Poker Championship. The Halloween tournament is scheduled for Oct. 31, and Ivonne Montealegre hosts a €1,150 High Roller Mystery Bounty on Nov. 2.

The schedule also assigns named hosts to several specialist events: Kerryjane Craigie for Ladies First!, Tanya Masters for MPF Halloween, Jon Kyte for H.O.R.S.E. (5 Mix), and Paul “Rinty” Monaghan for the 50-plus Seniors tournament. A Byblos Party is also listed.

Montealegre founded the Malta Poker Festival in 2018 and has said its aim is to make recreational and newer players comfortable, rather than catering only to seasoned players. The festival runs twice a year and draws players from across Europe.

Last autumn’s €550 Grand Event at the same casino drew 1,987 entries, with eight players reaching its final day and a €141,000 first prize listed. The 2025 Autumn edition had advertised more than a dozen events and €500,000 in guarantees, providing a recent benchmark for the 2026 schedule.
