Jesse Lonis Leads King’s Charity Super High Roller Final Table
The Jeju event drew 71 entries, built a $6.67 million prize pool and will send $1.954 million to the winner, with Dwan, Tsang and Kenney still in contention.
Jesse Lonis is the chip leader heading into the nine-handed final table of the $100,000 King’s Charity Super High Roller at the King Poker Cup in Jeju. Tom Dwan, Elton Tsang and Bryn Kenney are also still alive, and the event has built a $6,674,000 prize pool from 71 entries.
The top prize is $1,954,000, while every finalist has already locked up at least $200,000. The tournament also carries a charity angle, with KPC announcing that its entire $426,000 administration fee will be donated.
SoMuchPoker reported that Lonis will return with 9,950,000, ahead of Dwan on 5,900,000 and Tsang on 5,125,000. Lonis lost his first stack early on Day 2, re-entered immediately, and then climbed all the way to the lead before play ended.
The road to the final table was active from the start of the day. Day 2 opened with 37 survivors from 57 opening-day entries, then registration stayed open until the start of Level 11 and added another 14 entries to bring the total to 71.
Tony Ren Lin started Day 2 as the chip leader with 1,470,000. Bryn Kenney, Biao Ding and Punnat Punsri were among the players who came back after missing a Day 1 bag, while Calvin Lee, Ryan Plant and Konstantin Held were among the later arrivals.
The bubble burst with Lazauninkas in 12th place, then Lin doubled through Lonis to reach the money before Lonis knocked him out in 11th. An unidentified player followed in 10th, leaving the final table set.
Poker.org noted that Lonis, Tsang and Kenney are regulars in the global super high roller scene, while Dwan is less of a fixture in those fields. The same report said Dwan’s last tournament cash was at the 2024 WSOP, and his last final table came a few months earlier.
The broader KPC series runs from July 25 through August 10 at Les A Casino in Jeju, according to PokerNews, with a KRW 2,000,000,000 guarantee backed by title sponsor QQPK. PokerNews also said the King’s Charity Super High Roller was scheduled for July 28 to 30 with a $100,000 buy-in, and that KPC would waive all personnel service fees and donate 100% of the event administration fees directly to charity.
The final table resumes Thursday, July 30, at 13:30 local time. Blinds will be 50,000/125,000 with a 125,000 big blind ante. The delayed stream will be available on the official King Poker Cup YouTube channel.
